                   WILL OF JOHN PIERCE


I know all men by these presents that I John Pierce of Butler Township Butler
County State of Pennsylvania being of sound and disposing mind and memory do
make and ordain this to be my last will and testament.  I hereby order and 
direct that my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid out of my money or
personel property which may be in my possesion at the time of my decese and all
my beds and beding and household furiture I order and bequethe to my wife Mary
Pierce and I further bequethe to my wife Mary Pierce one hors beast and her 
choise if there is more than one also 100 cows and her choise if there is more
than 100 cows. I further bequethe to my wife Mary Pierce three hundred dollars I
further order and ordain that all my remaining personel property and money that
may be in my possesion be divided equilly among my heires Hannah Cooper, Thomas
Pierce. David Pierce, Siles Pierce, Mary Pierce, Elizabeth Conrad, John Pierce,
Joseph Pierce, Elisa Fryer, Lyddie Grey, Jane Reynolds, and Margaret Peterson,
shere and shere alike to each of them or their heires and I do hereby constitute
and appoint Thomas Pierce and David McElwain executors of this my last will and
testament in testimony that this is my last will and testiment and that I have
revoked and annulled all and every other heretofore by me made I have here unto
set my  hand and seal this 22th day of October in the year of our Lord One 
Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty.

I know all men by these presents that I David McElwain do hereby decline the 
trust reposed in him as one of the executors appointed by the aforesaid 
testators John Peirce and I do hereby decline signing witness my 
hand and seal this 4th day of January A.D. 1851.
