   Will of John Evans,

   written April 1815 and probated Feb 11 1819.

   In the name of God Amen I John Evans of Mercer Township
   in the County of Butler and state of Pennsylvania being weak
   in body but of sound and perfect mind and Memory-do make
   and publish this my last will and Testimony in the manner
   and form Following(Viz) First I give and bequeath unto
   my Eldest daughter Jane Thompson the sum of one dollar
   I do also give & bequeath to my Eldest son Thomas Evans
   the sum of one dollar I do also give and bequeath to my
   Second son Abraham Evans the sum of one dollar I
   do also give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Sharp=
   nack (sp?) the sum of four dollars I do also give and bequeath
   to my Daughter Lydia Phillips Fifty acres of Land lying
   South and adjoining Land of John E. Evans Formerly Benjamin
   Wells and at Deaseas (sp?) to leave it to whome she will
   I do also give and bequeath to my son Henry Evans the
   one dollar I do also give and bequeath to my Daughter
   Alice Blackledge the sum of one dollar I do also
   give and bequeath to my Daughter Margaret Mathews
   the sum of Twelve dollars I do also give and bequeath
   to my son John E. Evans the remainder of the said -
   land I do also give and bequeath to my youngest 
   Daughter Elinor McClain Twelve dollars and 
   Lastly I do also will that one half of my 
   live stock together with all my personal property 
   shall be sold and after paying my debts and
   Funeral Charges and other Expenses the over plus
   if any to be Equally Divided amongst the Legatees Equaly 
   I do also will that the other half of the live stock 
   to my aforesaid Daughter Lydia Phillips -------
   And Further I do hereby constitute and 
   appoint my son Henry Evans my sole 
   Executor of this last will and testament
   And that he the said Henry Evans my sole
   Executor I do atherise him in my name 
   as though I had don it myself to make
   And execute a lawful Deed to James Shields
   or his assinee for ten acres agreeable to said
   survey and also to John E. Evans for that Land
   that he bought from Benjamin Wells which ----
   Deeds shall be good in Law as if said John Evans 
   had Executed said Deed myself----------
   Hereby Revoking all former wills by me made
   In witness whereof I have Hereunto set my hand 
   And seal this        day of April A.D. 1815


   Signed and published and declared
   By the above named John Evans to
   Be his last will and testament in the
   Presents of us who have hereunto set and
   Subscribed Names as witnesses in present
   Of the Testator
