Last Will and Testament of Catharine Coates (nee Spohn)

     I Catharine Coates of Great Belt, Jefferson Township, Butler County
Pa., being of sound memory and mind do hereby make, publish and declare
this to be my last Will and Testament, in manner following; hereby
revoking any will or wills hertofore made by me.
     First I direct all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid
and satisfied, as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.
     First I demise and bequeath unto my son Joseph Coates after my death

all that certain lot or peice[sic] of lands situated in Great Belt, Pa,
being bounded and described as follows, to wit:
Beginning at a post the corner between Catharine Snyder', and lot
formly[sic] of Bernard Steighner, thence along land formly[sic] of James
Gallaher S. 26BDo East seven perches and five tenth perches to a post,
thence along lot of Lewis Hartenstein North 63BDo E.  Six perches and
seventy-five one hundredth to a post, thence along lot of the said Lewis
Hartenstein, North fifty three and three fourth degrees East, four
perches and five tenth of a perch to a post, thence along lot of
Catharine Snyder, west eleven perches and seven tenth of a perch to a
post the place of beginning, containing sixty-three (63) perches of land
be the same more or less, togather[sic] with all the buildings and
improvements thereon.  I give and bequeath to my son Hugh Coates, and my
daughter Margaret Gallaher, and Catharine Cubbeson[sic], the sum of three

dollars each.  I demise and bequeath unto my husband Isaac Coates the use

of one room of the dwelling-house in which I now reside togather[sic]
with one bed and Rocking chair during his natural life.
     I further direct that in the event that should there be any monies
remaining due me on life insurance that there shall be enough of said
money applied toward the discharge of my indebtedness to Levi Heiduck,
late merchant of Great Belt Pa.,
     As to my household and kitchen furniture I give and bequeath the
same to my son Joseph Coats[sic].
     And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son Hugh Coates,
executor of this my last will and testament.
     In witness whereof I the said testator Catharine Coates have to this

my last will and testament set my hand and seal the twenty-third day of
March A.D. 1895.

Coates as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us, who
in her presence and at her request, have subscribed our names as witness
thereto.

Hugh Coates signed a sworn statement on the 12th of August 1897 that
Catharine Coats[sic] late of the Township of Jefferson in said county
[Butler. PA], departed this life on the 31st day of September, A.D. 1896,

about 6- oclock PM, of said day
