In the Name of God, Amen. I, Thomas Beatty, of the Township of--------, in the
County of Butler, and State of Pennsylvania, being sick and weak in body, but of
sound and disposing mind and memory, and in view of my mortality, do hereby dispose
of what earthly goods it has pleased Almighty God to bless me with in this world, in
manner following :viz, that is to say:
First, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, the rest of my real estate
I give to my beloved wife, Susan, to have full control of it during her natural lifetime.
And, after the death of my wife, I direct and give to my three married girls, namely
Jane Brunner, Isabelle Carr, and Vanity McFree fifty acres of the west end of my farm
I direct and give to my three single girls (namely Mary, Susan, and Sarah) fifty
acres next adjoining the fifty acres afore mentioned of the west end of my farm.
I direct and give to my son, Thomas H. Beatty, the balance of the estate,
reserving the part of the living house I now live in for the use of my family as
long as they need it
My buggy I give to my three single girls, my wagon and farming utensils, I give to
my son, Thomas.
I give to my wife and three unmarried daughters one cow and four sheep each, all of
my household furniture, to have and hold the same.
I will and direct that the balance of my stock and all claims due me shall be takrn
charge of by my executor hereinafter menttioned, and sold, or as much of it as will
pay my debts, and should there be a balance left, to pay it to my three single girls,
share and share alike
Likewise, I make, constitute and appoint my son, Thomas H. Beatty, of the County and
State aforesaid to be the executor of this, my last will and testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this
twenty seventh day of December, A.D. 1869 Signed Thomas (x) Beatty his mark
