Mrs. Charles Longanecker
Mrs. Charles Longanecker, a resident of Monongahela township, died at her home 
near Greensboro, Tuesday morning at 3 o'clock.  Her death was due to a 
complication of diseases, she having been in poor health during the past six 
months.  She was born November 1, 1846, making her 66 years old.  Her husband 
preceded her to the better world last December.
She leaves to mourn her loss seven children, Rev. John C. Longanecker of West 
Newton; A.E. Longanecker of Muddy Creek; W. L. Longanecker, of Willow Tree; and 
Walter Longanecker, at home, and three daughter Mrs. Anna Bell Hartley of near 
Greensboro; Mrs. Carl Minor of Ceylon; and Miss Estella Longanecker at home.  
The following brothers and sister also survive: Joseph Burwell, of Geneva, Mrs. 
Elizabeth Luellen of Masontown; Dr. A.E. Burwell, of Illinois, James Burwell of 
Oklahoma; Marion Burwell, of Missouri; Mrs. John Merill of Missouri.
Mrs. Longanecker was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Burwell and spent 
her entire life in Monongahela township.  She was a life long member of the 
Sugar Grove Baptist church, an exemplary Christian woman, always taking an 
active interest in the work of the church.  The funeral services were held at 
the old homestead Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, 
Rev. Slonaker.  Interment in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, near Greensboro.
