George D. Jacobs, aged 72, died at the late home in Greene county, near
Carmichaels, Saturday morning, August 15, 1931, at 7 o'clock, of
complications.

He was a son of the late Captain Adam and Ann Slowden Jacobs, and a native
of Fayette county, having been born at Jacobs Ferry.  Two daughters, Mrs.
Pearson Minor and Ann Jacobs, and one granddaughter, all at home, survive,
together with two sisters, Mrs. S. S. Graham and Mrs. A. J. McBurney, both
of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Jacobs was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Carmichaels and
spent his entire life on the Monongahela river, for many years operating
Jacobs Ferry until his retirement about four years ago.

Funeral services will be solemnized this afternoon at 1 o'clock in the First
Presbyterian church, Carmichaels, in charge of the pastor, Rev. John O.
Miller, assisted by Rev. John C. McMinn, of Jefferson.  Burial will be at
Jefferson.
