Charles Woodrow Obituary 

Charles W. Hughes, Sr., 77 of Moffitt, Pa., passed away Wednesday, October 31, 
2007 in his home.He was born January 30, 1930, in Bessemer, Pa., son of the 
late Charles L. Hughes and Hazel M. Reed / Hughes.

Charles was a retired coal miner having worked for United States Steel, member 
of U.M.W.A. Local 1980, a Veteran of the Korean War having served with the 
United States Army. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Gooding Hughes with whom he had 
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 5, 2007; two daughters: 
Mary Ann Anderson and Susan Smith and husband, Art; one son, Charles W. 
Hughes, Jr. and girlfriend, Carol Johnson all of Moffitt; two grandchildren: 
Beth Salosky and Nathan Smith; two great-grandchildren: Shawn Anderson and 
Ryan Tuttle; two great-great-grandsons: Trevor Scott Johnson and Tyler John 
Salosky; five sisters; two brothers and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and one 
brother.

Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Thomas B. 
Rudolph, Funeral Director and Supervisor, 15 Main Street, Point Marion, Pa., 
today, November 2, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 2 to 
4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2007 the hour of 
service in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sharon Johnson officiating. 
Interment will follow in Wolf's Cemetery, Dilliner, Pa.

Full Military Rites will be accorded at the graveside by Point Marion VFW Post 
747 and American Legion Post 499.
