OBITUARY: (unknown newspaper)-IN MEMORIAM-Written in loving remembrance of our
dear mother, Emily WRIGHT DAVIS, who departed this life May 15, 1907; was born
August 14, 1824; aged 82 years, 9 months and 1 day. She was born where Rutan   
now is and died at her old home near Bristoria. She has always been a resident 
of Greene
County. She was married to Amos DAVIS, December 25, 1845, who died about eight
months ago. To this union nine children were born, three sons and six
daughters, four of which are dead. The surviving are as follows: Mrs. Maria
POLEN, Wind Ridge, Pa.; Mrs. Mahala LYON, Ryerson Station, Pa.; Mrs. Anna
BOWERS, Rock Lick, W. Va.; Mrs. Levina FINCH, Bristoria, Pa.; Mr. David R.
DAVIS, Bristoria, Pa. Twenty-six grandchildren and a host of other relatives
and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.I. GREGORY. Interment

  OBITUARY: (unknown Greene County, PA newspaper) DAVIS--- Amos DAVIS was born
  January 22, 1824, and departed this life September 11, 1906, aged 82 years.
  He was married to Emily WRIGHT, December 25,  1845. To this union were born
  nine children, three sons and six daughters. Two sons and two daughters died
  at an early age. Father DAVIS was born and reared in Greene County, Pa., and
  never cast a vote outside of Richhill township. He was a pioneer of the
  county, a near relative of the family of DAVISes that was killed by the
  Indians years ago. Father DAVIS and his faithful wife united with the
  Christian church in early life. They have been faithful followers of the
  Master's example. In early days Father DAVIS was a great deer hunter. He was
  born and raised a Democrat, and worked for and supported the ticket all of
  his life. He leaves to mourn his departure a faithful wife who has arrived at
  the ripe age of eighty-two, also five children. Elizabeth M. POLLEN, of Wind
  Ridge, Pa., Mahala M. LYON, of Ryerson Station, Pa., Anna BOWERS, of Rock
  Lick, W. Va., Levina FINCH, of Bristoria, Pa., and David DAVIS, of Bristoria,
  Pa., the only son living. The funeral service was conducted at the home in the
  presence of as large number of friends. After the funeral services the remains
  were taken to the Fairview cemetery where they were laid to rest to await the
  resurrection morn. The funeral was conducted by Rev. J.I. Cameron, W. Va
