Gasconade Counties", Biographical Appendix, Goodspeed Publishing
Company, 1888.

**********************************************************************

Benjamin F. Renick is the eldest of nine children born to Thomas E. and
Rachel Renick, and was born in Franklin County, Mo., November 1, 1857.
He was educated in the common schools of his county, and remained on
the home farm until 1881, when he established a general store on the
old homestead, and was quite successfully engaged in merchandising for
a considerable time. He tired of the confinement, however, and subse-
quently bought a farm of eighty acres and engaged in the pursuit of
agriculture; he now owns 380 acres. In 1881 he married Elizabeth, the
daughter of Benjamin Irwin. Of the four children born to their union,
three are living, viz.: John F., Annie B. and Thomas B. Mr. Renick is
notary public, real estate agent, and a member of the Masonic lodge.
His political preferences are Democratic, though he is conservative,
and casts his vote for the man he thinks best fitted for the office.
Mrs. Renick is a consistent member of the Cumberland Presbyterian
Church.
