**********************************************************************

Rev. Albert Muecke, pastor in charge of the German Evangelical Protest-
ant St. John's Church, of Franklin County, Mo., was born in Mocker,
Silesia, Germany, December 7, 1862 and educated at the Gymnasium at
Leobschuetz. He immigrated to America in 1882, and came directly from
New York City to Missouri and entered the Evangelical Seminary in
Warren County. He remained at that school one year and then spent
another year in a similar institute, situated in St. Louis County,
seven miles from the city of St. Louis, on the St. Charles Rock Road.
He was ordained a minister in 1884 and for the three months following
was Vicar in St. Louis. He then served as mission preacher in Mont-
gomery County until 1886, when he took charge of the German Evangelical
Protestant St. John's Church, where he is now located. An extended
notice of this church organization may be found in the church history
of the history of Franklin County. He also has charge of the school
taught in connection with the church. As a pastor and educator he is
meeting with much success, and is building up both the church and the
school. He was united in marriage April, 1885 to Miss Mathilde Masch-
meier, of St. Louis, Mo. The parents of our subject are William and
Johanna Muecke, both natives of Germany, who immigrated to America in
August, 1887 and make their home with their son at the parsonage.
