I am beginning to research my Hall family; my brother began the study over twenty years ago and was unable to locate our ancestor Pinkn(e)y Hall. Possibly you may recognize some of the family members of the ancestral line. I would appreciate any comments that you might have. We know that Pinkn(e)y Hall was born in South Carolina probably in the early 1800’s. His wife was Jane Alexander Hughes (b. 1808, SC; d. 1896, AL). Her tombstone ( located in Pleasant Cemetery, Grove Oak, Dekalb Co. , AL) reads “Wife of Pinkny”. His name could also have been Samuel Pinkny Allen. McKINNEY family..Sarah A. McKinney born in Ala. ca 1832, married Robert L. FOX,1852, probably in La. In 1860 census she had William McKinney, 21 years old, born Ala. living in her home. She was very close to Valsico McKinney McGinnis who was married in Sarah's home in Alexandria La. in 1872. After Sarah's death, Val took her daughters into her home and referred to them as her nieces. After Val's death, her husband remarried "to Val's cousin, Fanny E. McKinney, daughter of Kinchen W. McKinney." Can anyone help with this family?
